Nellie’s Arrived in Bournemouth!
At We Have The Power we are a bit obsessed with tackling plastic pollution and litter on our beaches. So this morning we were delighted to welcome Nellie the recycling fish to Bournemouth Pier Approach. You may have noticed that we’ve been having a few rubbish problems recently, and Nellie is here to help us tackle them. Her arrival is the result of over 12 months of research, campaigning and hassling. We didn’t give up and here she is. Nellie collects plastic bottles and cans and spreads the Leave Only Footprints message. Many thanks to BCP Council for agreeing to let Nellie visit, to Final Straw Solent for loaning her to us, and to all those that added their voice to the call for Nellie to come to Bournemouth. Next step is to get the artwork from BCP’s school competition prominently displayed so our young people can help get the Less Rubbish message across. We also need to commission our very own BCP recycling fish so if you would like to help please get in touch. To enter the school competition – https://www.bournemouth.co.uk/leaveonlyfootprints
