Making Things Happen by Funding Core Costs

Last Updated: Sep 17, 2021 @ 3:25 pm

Dorset Wildlife Trust is committed to addressing three major environmental challenges, the climate crisis which, along with other forms of environmental degradation, is driving a major ecological crisis and thirdly the disconnect of people from nature.

The past two years have seen some amazing new initiatives come online and a number of these have been supported by We Have the Power.  These include the reintroduction of beavers in west Dorset and the acquisition of 170ha of land near Bere Regis for rewilding.

However, without support for the core costs of the charity none of this would be possible.  Without core funding for our work we would not be able to research and develop the new projects and initiatives that are vital to address the climate and ecological crises.  It is also important that our staff are properly supported and work in a safe and secure environment with the resources and facilities to enable them to effectively deliver their jobs.

Through grants towards development and core costs We Have the Power have helped to ensure that we have the resources to act on new opportunities and make things happen.
